"Benny Hill - International funnyman" - Open to the public - Frick Estate Lecture Series - Registration required - See below for registration details

  • Frick Estate Lecture Series The Nassau County Museum of Art - 1 Museum Dr, Roslyn, NY 11576 United States (map)

The first Long Island lecture to discuss the legendary Benny Hill! The saucy and world famous English comedian that we remember from television began as a shy man with a stage act that needed much work. Afraid of hostile audiences, he turned to television and eventually became a world famous clown who was loved by millions in one hundred forty countries! But what was he like when not entertaining? Who was that little Irish fellow that had his head repeatedly tapped by Benny? Did Benny ever marry? Did he spend his fortune on extravagances? Why was his immensely popular show cancelled? Find out in this presentation and then watch some of his most hilarious sketches while you laugh yourself silly! He was an expert at all types of comedy - farce, physical, verbal and puns and the crowd response to this presentation shows that he still entertains today! Benny Hill music, an autograph collection, memorabilia and book display are included in this study of the world’s most famous modern clown. Don’t miss this!

You can register by simply using the website (www.thefrickestatelectures.org) or calling the lecture office at 516-415-1101 and leaving a message – they will get right back to you and register you by credit card.  Checks are also accepted but may be delayed at their P.O.
