1948 was a critical year for Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. Their careers were beginning to fade as Box Office powerhouses. While their comedies had kept American audiences spirits high during World War 2, their post war films were not capturing the public's attention. And as for Universal's classic monsters. their declining box office receipts had ended the "B" movies they had become. What to do? Someone came up with the idea of planting Lou Costello's pliable brain into the Frankenstein Monster's body by a mad scientist. As the writers and executives thought that idea had possibilities, they decided to add some of the other Universal properties that they owned, so Dracula and the Wolfman were added to the mix. What did Lou think of this idea? Well, if Universal-International had listened to him, we would not have the film we love today! In this presentation, you will learn about the production and casting of the funniest horror film of all time as well as the behind stories that occurred during the making of the film. You will also discover the monster that didn’t make the final cut! See why no one could match Lou's "scare take". This film still holds many laughs even after more than seventy five years and shows why many consider this to be Abbott and Costello's funniest film as the Monsters take their final screen bow! Soundtrack music as well as an autograph, memorabilia and book display are included, as are film highlights. Get in the Halloween mood with laughs and a few frights! Soundtrack music and an autograph, memorabilia and book display are included.
