Gary Cooper stars in this Western classic that did not follow the norm for Western sagas. As a retiring Marshall, he calls on the towns people that he protected and trusted for help. They disown him in various ways and the Marshall has to deal with four killers arriving on the noon train alone and his new bride that wants him to run instead of fighting. A rare psychological and tense western, this is Gary Coopers finest hour and a film that stands the test of time with lessons for audiences today. With an outstanding cast that includes Grace Kelly in her first major film role, Lon Chaney, Thomas Mitchell, Lloyd Bridges and Harry Morgan, this is not a film to be missed. Attendees will see why it is a Presidential film favorite. Soundtrack music and a memorabilia and book display is included in the first local Long Island discussion of this classic.
