Private lecture - Memories of a 1960’s Christmas

  • Nassau County, NY (map)

Do you remember growing up with fond memories of heart warming Christmas programs? These black and white shows gave a message of holiday hope and happiness unlike anything on television today. This original presentation lets attendees relive those feelings of good cheer with some rarely seen popular shows of yesteryear. Leading off is Art Carney in a seldom seen “Twilight Zone” episode. Carney performs a heartbreaking portrayal of a down on his luck department store Santa that just might stumble across some magical gift giving to those in need. A rare positive and ultimately feel good Twilight Zone program. The second program presents singing, dancing and jokes from the very talented cast of the “Dick Van Dyke Show” as the cast members put on their own Christmas program. The third program is a very special episode of “The Andy Griffith Show” as Andy brings the Christmas spirit to Mayberry’s Scrooge. This is the only episode that had Christmas as a subject, but you can see why Griffith stopped while he was ahead. Guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye. Classic Christmas music, memorabilia, autographs and a book display will accompany this program.
