Co-written by Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder and directed by Mel Brooks, this film is as funny and fresh today as when we laughed at it in 1974! This Power Point presentation will take attendees from the early development of the film to its completion. Along the way, they will discover the unconventional way the film was cast, how Mel and Gene wrote the story and screenplay, why it was filmed in black and white, the scene that almost caused a huge fight between the authors and the many behind the scenes stories and crackups. After the presentation, they will experience selected highlights. This was the favorite film of Gene Wilder and Mel considers it his finest work. Attendees will listen to the film’s soundtrack as they view a memorabilia, book and autograph display before the program.
