See this lecture in the historic St. James Vaudeville theater for a one of a kind experience! The first Long Island presentation to cover the life and career of this New York City superstar! Attendees will learn how this poor Irish kid from New York’s lower East Side became a hoofer (dancer) in Vaudeville and on Broadway, one of the screen’s toughest gangsters and then one of Hollywood’s best loved stars. This presentation covers Jimmy’s life beginning from his humble start and details his amazing career. It can include film highlights or a screening of one of his greatest films, “Public Enemy”, where Jimmy exploded on the screen in his toughest and arguably meanest film role and the one that made him a star. Singing, dancing, drama or comedy - nothing was beyond his scope. Respected, loved and admired by all, except Studio Head Jack Warner, there was no one like this “Professional Againster”! An autograph, book and memorabilia display is included. Sponsored by the “Celebrate St. James” organization, there is a charge for this presentation to support their restoration work on the theater. Free parking is available next to the theater. For more information, please contact “Celebrate St. James” at (631) 984-0201
