In demand every year, attendees will see why the first and original Long Island program of this film is one of my most popular and draws large crowds. It has been called the most entertaining, unique and thorough analysis of the film and it’s stars to date. As the Co-Grand Sheik of the Long Island Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society (a/k/a “The Sons of the Desert”), I have a very special love and appreciation for this film. Known by two names (either “Babes in Toyland” or as “March of the Wooden Soldiers”), attendees will learn the back story to the making of this holiday classic including special effects, on set accidents and the incident that eventually led to “The Boys” leaving Hal Roach studios. Film highlights of the film will be screened in a colorized version (as Stan Laurel wanted the film to be shot in color) after the Power Point presentation. This film is one of Laurel and Hardy’s greatest films and still entertains children and adults today! Insight, laughs, music and a rousing finish will make for a wonderful afternoon of fun. Original soundtrack music is included as is an autograph, memorabilia and book display.
