Jackie Gleason and “The Honeymooners” - Private lecture

  • Nassau County, NY (map)

The “biggest thing on television” was born and raised in Brooklyn and overcame a great deal in his life - the early death of his older brother, abandoned by his Father and partly responsible (due to a tragic mistake) for the death of his Mother, Jackie had a difficult life. Determined to succeed, he appeared in cheap clubs, films and early television before making the series for which he is forever known - “The Honeymooners”. Besides Jackie, you will meet his talented cast members, learn the history of the show, see some rare behind the scenes photographs and, following the presentation, see two “Lost Honeymooners” episodes - “The Hot Dog Stand” and “The Adoption”. This presentation provides many laughs and even a few tears (in “The Adoption”) as you will see Ralph Kramden have some serious and heart wrenching moments. This presentation also includes a book, autograph and rare memorabilia display.
